‘Turkey Under Glass’ Festival at the Domes
February 6, 2011 // 0 CommentsThe Mitchell Park Domes, 524 S. Layton Boulevard, invites families and friends to experience, “Turkey Under Glass,” a festival highlighting the cultures and customs of Turkey, a southeastern European country on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 from 9am – 4pm.
Exhibits include: A bazaar stand in the domes that will allow shoppers to purchase items from Turkey. Traditional dance performances and workshops will be featured throughout the day.
Authentic Turkish ethnic food, as well as coffee and tea will be available.
A cultural and informational booth along with video will allow participants access to information about Turkey.
In addition to the exhibits, folk dance and belly-dancing instruction and techniques will be shared.
This event is staged and coordinated by the Turam Turkish Folk Dance Group, Denai’s Dancers, Pat Kellar’s Oriental Dancers, the Hamilton High School Horan Turkish Folk Dance Group, and oriental dancer, Denise Lukaski-Sedmak.
