Thomas E. Mitchell, Jr., (center) editor of the Milwaukee Community Journal, recently accepted a Milwaukee County citation on behalf of the newspaper during County Board Day at the Milwaukee County Courthouse. The award was presented to the newspaper for its 35 years of reporting the news, opinions and photos of the city’s African American Community. With Mitchell are Milwaukee County 10th District Supervisor Eyon Biddle (left) and County Board Chairman Lee Holloway (right). The citation was presented a week before the Community Journal’s 35th anniversary gala which honored the community’s trailblazers past, present and future who have made contributions in law, business, religion, education, community service, medicine and the arts.
