Running Rebels to hold scholarship banquet
The Running Rebels will hold its 28th Anniversary Scholarship Banquet on October 24 at the Italian Community Center, 631 East Chicago Street from 6:30-9 p.m.
| The Running Rebels Community Organization was founded in 1980 as a private non-profit organization with the mission of providing educational and recreational programs to help inner-city Milwaukee youth to develop mentally, physically and spiritually. Since that time, Running Rebels has successfully expanded the organization by adding prevention, mentoring and monitoring programs to provide youth with positive alternatives to gangs, firearms and substance abuse. The purpose of this year’s banquet is to recognize the accomplishments of the youth who have been involved in Running Rebels programs. Over the past 12 years, Running Rebels has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships, providing valuable support for youth who are working toward their educational goals. |
