Golden couple celebrates 50 years of wedded bliss

Willie and Mary F. Seals, Jr. recently celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss at their northwest side home.

Alderman Joe Davis presented the couple with a proclamation recognizing their service to the community as leaders of the neighborhood block club. The proclamation will hang in city hall downtown for everyone to see.

Willie and Mary met in 1955 and married on February 25, 1956. The then Mary Flent Harris hails from Tipton, Tennessee, coming to Milwaukee in 1937. Willie is from Dekalb, Mississippi.

Willie worked for Motor Casting for 44 years. Mary worked 21 years at Briggs and Stratton.
To this union four children were born: Carol and Tray of Milwaukee, Pat of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Sunshine of Savannah, Georgia.

The golden couple has nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
