Question of the Week: "What can older African American adults do to help elementary, middle and high school students?"
Photos and question by Harry Kemp

Mary Savage Mitchell: "Listen to our youngsters; Live the example. (To paraphrase President John F. Kennedy): Ask not what children can do for you. But what can you do for the children."

James Tisdale: "Older African American adults should become more involved with the younger generation by setting positive examples. Giving examples of what it takes to become a good citizen; emphasizing education and involving the church."

James Braggs: "The older generation should stop pointing the finger or placing the blame and start building a new and innovative outlet of positive communication. (We need to) listen to their stories. Communication is a two-way systematic approach."

Alfrieda Johnson: "Older African Americans should be mentoring all children of every age group. Helping to direct them in the right direction and giving them much love."
