Holla!
Twenty thousand (20,000) down 225,000 to go, I-Witness touching Black people all over the city of Milwaukee, and the world one event at a time.

Black people are the First Wonders of the World--We have survived and continue to survive in spite of those who wish for and work toward our demise.

Holla-Outs

Volunteerism has reached a 30-year high. More people than ever are volunteering to assist their fellow man/woman. In recent years it has been reported that Black people lead the way in volunteering, I guess it takes Black people to teach the world how to do everything ... and it’s a good thing. Let’s keep it up.

"5 snaps and a pop"

Many of you have asked how I rate restaurants, music etc. My system is simple when I give something snaps and pops, I am rating things based on many factors and my knowledge on the particular subject, be it food, plays, music, etc.

I look at the totality of the subject like food atmosphere, service, taste, appearance etc. If I specify something it simply means I like that particular part or item and perhaps there are other things that could improve, but when I like it all I say it. I rate things starting at its lowest 1-5 pops and a snap. One being nothing out of the ordinary or I may not care for it. Five means excellent, six means it is superb and it will also have a snap.

Welcome Back

Lynda Jones it was nice seeing you, again. Lynda is the new editor of the "Milwaukee Courier" and the daughter of Jerrell Jones. Welcome Home.

Kaleidoscope wants to know....

Michael Richards, the former "Seinfield" star, recently went on a racial tirade, slewing racial slurs at several African American spectators. If an African American comedian had behaved in the same manner as Richards did, how do you think the nation would have responded?

photos by Harry Kemp

Sandra Chapman: "Nothing! Because if we used it in a comedy show we would have done it in the context of the show as a joke, not when we were angry."

Kerry Whitehead: "It depends on the White person. Some of them won’t mind if it’s done in humor. Others are not going to like it, but they won’t say anything about it."

Kevin Cloyd (KC): "Personally, I think just because you are a comedian doesn’t give you lead way to insult anyone’s race whether they be Black, White, Red or Blue. I do, however, feel that if this person were Black, their career would be over, now is Richards’ career over?"

Karen Chisem: "I believe that Caucasians feel offended when they attend comedy shows and the comedian uses racial jokes towards them, but they take it like a champ."

MPS school wins reprieve using cooperation, teamwork

by Leslie Johnson
You would probably be hard-pressed to find anyone as critical of MPS two weeks ago as Cyndy Mestan, a 25-year veteran teacher who charged that the process MPS used to evaluate school closings was severely flawed and unfair, and how the administration was unresponsive to parents and teachers.
