UWM report focuses on connection between race and joblessness in city

First the good news. Milwaukee has moved from its position as hosting the highest Black unemployment rate in the country, to second worst, behind Pittsburgh. The Black male unemployment rate dropped from 46.5% to 43%. Read more

| Moore speaks to demonstrators--U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore addressed a gathering at O’Donnel Park downtown near the lakefront recently, calling for the withdrawal of all American troops from Iraq. Several hundred anti-war protesters were on hand to hear the congresswoman and other political leaders and activists on last Saturday, which marked the Fourth anniversary of the United States’ invasion of the Persian Gulf country. Medical College announces new community/academic partnership awards totaling $7M
At its meeting on March 16, the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Board of Trustees approved awards totaling $7,037,486 in support of 29 community/academic partnership projects statewide through the College’s Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (HWPP). Read more |
