Pulse of the Community
Question of the Week: "Recently, a 7-year-old child was run over and killed by a car while playing in the street. What can parents do to prevent this from happening to their own children?"
Photos and question by Harry Kemp

Tania Jones: "Parents need to be more responsible. Going to a baby shower and leaving your child alone to play in the streets at 10 at night is not being a responsible or concerned parent. Why wasn’t the child in the baby shower with his parent? Just a thought."

Robert Price: "I think parents should pay more attention to their kids and take their kids to church and get a relationship with the Lord."

Marvell Brantley: "We as a community must take responsibility for our children. Mentoring them and teaching them life skills early will help insure children will have a sense of self-awareness in their own environment. It takes a village to raise a child."

Loretta Warrior: "I believe at 7-years-old, a parent should be outßside with the baby. There’s a difference in raising a child and just having children."
