Pulse of the Community

Question of the Week: "What is your opinion regarding the use of plastic handcuffs in Milwaukee public schools?"

Photo and question by Harry Kemp

Shirley Adams: "I think if the kids are wrong they need to be corrected at all costs. So, if plastic handcuffs are needed, so be it. I do hope that this method is not the way of the future."

Wayne: "I’m totally against the cuffs. They will only be used for the Black community."

Chris Dunn: "If that’s what is needed because of the unruliness, then fine. If a person cannot control their tempers and actions, then plastic restraints can be an option for order."

Mary Proctor Brown: "With proper training provided by the (Milwaukee) police department, use of plastic hand cuffs may be necessary and in order. However, such disciplines can and should only be administered by security and police officers."
