Praising the Lord through dance!

Liturgical Dancer Krislyn World Heil (shown above) performed recently during Calvary Baptist Church’s annual Worship Service in Jazz, Dance and song during the church’s morning worship services. Heil was one of a number of performers who performed during the services, which consisted almost entirely of music, even the sermon. The service was presented by the Music and Fine Arts Ministry of Calvary, under the direction of Beverly Njuguna, Esq. the church’s minister of music who is retiring after this year. Reverend John R. Walton, Jr. is pastor of Calvary. (photo by Harry Kemp)

Pulse of the Community

Question of the Week: "What should be done about gun control?"

Photos and question by Harry Kemp

Marian Beach: "I don’t know how kids are getting guns, but maybe it would be a good thing if parents were accountable for their kid and had to go before a judge, maybe some of these killings would stop. But that may put a burden on some parents who work to support that kid."

Dorothy Campbell: "I’m not a gun advocate. However, if we take guns out of the Black community, we must go further to take them out of other communities as well. If the system allows an individual access to guns, they must be accountable for securing that gun."

Jeffrey E. Biggs: "Make the penalty stiffer and stop being so lenient and make all gun charges stiffer."

Pastor Rodney Camp-bell: "I believe that if we tax the bullets and finger print those who purchase bullets, we could better monitor the shootings. As always, let the saints continue to pray."
