Alpha Phi Alpha Delta Chi Lambda Foundation to award more than $10,000 to young men in annual scholarship Beautillion-winner receives $5,000 grand scholarship
In keeping with the four main objectives of the Alpha Phi Alpha Delta Chi Lambda Foundation--service to mankind, the promotion of scholarship, knowledge and achievement--the members of the foundation are proud to continue the tradition today with the announcement that we are now accepting applications from all high school senior males, who wish to participate in our 19th Annual Young Gentleman’s Scholarship Beautillion.
More than $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded at the cumulating Beautillion Ball, which is held in June each year. In addition to each Beau receiving a $500 Book Scholarship (once the minimum criteria has been met), one beau will advance and be crowned Mr. Beautillion and receive a $5,000 Grand Scholarship.
Service and participation points are awarded over a six-month period for various activities such as: a Rites of Passage Program, Ad Sales, Community Service Projects, a Talent Showcase, a Career Showcase, and a Bucks Night Out. Each Beau has a personal advisor from the ranks of the foundation, a community-based sponsor and a professional mentor.
For the past 19 years, the Alpha Beautillion has been a vehicle for many to help support the educational dreams of our youth. In addition, it showcases some of Milwaukee’s finest career bound high school senior males who have demonstrated a desire to excel in life yet may lack some of the financial support and the encouragement by peers and mentors that they will need to turn their dreams into realities. Many have received their degrees and gone on to higher achievements.
