Aurora physicians continue their pledge to provide data to public
Madison--Aurora Medical Group has joined the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, further increasing the value of the organization’s comparative healthcare quality data provided to businesses and consumers in the state. "The 680 physicians that make up Aurora Medical Group are pleased to join the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality," said Jeffrey W. Bailet, MD, president of Aurora Medical Group. "We look forward to using the data we submit to the Collaborative-and the information we get back about how our performance compares to other medical groups in the state-to improve patient care." "We’re also deeply committed to the collaborative’s efforts to provide data about our performance to the public," said Patrick Falvey, Ph.D., Aurora’s vice president for Care Management and Clinical Research Administration. "Our patients deserve to know about the quality of the healthcare they receive, so they can make good healthcare choices. The collaborative has developed a set of meaningful measures so the public can compare the performance of participating physician groups. In addition, the focus of the collaborative on quality improvement is consistent with our efforts at Aurora Medical Group." The collaborative’s interactive website features 45 measures of healthcare quality performance in areas such as care for diabetes, hypertension, and pneumonia; critical care and surgery; heart care; women’s health; and patient satisfaction. The site also includes cost and quality comparisons for some types of care. Data from Aurora Medical Group will be available soon on the collaborative’s website at www.wchq.org.
