BloodCenter of Wisconsin Hosts Faith-Based and Health Care Community Celebration
October 25, 2011 // Comments OffBloodCenter of Wisconsin will host the Faith-Based and Health Care Community Celebration on to honor African American donorship, which allows an individual to give the highly personal and unique gifts of blood, marrow, organs and tissue. Also, the 2011 Faith-Based Community Challenge award winners will be announced. In addition, we will take this opportunity to prepare our supporters in the faith-based community with resources for National Donor Sabbath weekend. National Donor Sabbath will be observedNovember 12 and 13.
This year’s theme is “When African American’s Donate, African American’s Live.” Assistant Pastor Andrew Hopgood of New Testament Church will be the keynote speaker. Other speakers include Thelma Sias, We Energies Vice President Local Affairs; Dana World-Patterson of World Outreach & Bible Training Center and Ray Harmon, a heart recipient who will share his personal story of donation.
