Fourth of July Parade/Celebration at McGovern Park

Organizers of the Fourth of July Celebration at McGovern Park announced recently that this year's activities will include new and fun activities for the entire family. Activities will include a giant slide, a jumping cage, miniature golf, rock climbing, kiddie land rides-for children five years of age and under-including Happy Slide, Huey the Helicopter Ball Pond, and Toddler Activity Center.

Returning this year will be McGovern Park mainstays- a parade that starts on 68th and Silver Spring Drive and travels to the park-and the all-time favorite talent contest. Activities will start at 10 a.m. with the parade, and concludes at 6p.m.after the talent contest. on July 4th

"Residents who live in the McGovern Park area wanted to take the Fourth of July Celebration at McGovern Park in a different direction," said Marcus Duke, coordinator of the talent show. "This year's activities are all family-focused and, best of all, they're free!"
