Funeral services set for beautician Hattie Coleman

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 12 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 1930 W. Walnut St., for well-known beautician and entrepreneur Hattie L. Coleman.

The funeral will start at 11 a.m. Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 11 from 3 to 7 p.m., with the family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at the New Pitts Mortuary-East Chapel, 2031 W. Capitol Drive.

Coleman, along with her husband Alfred, operated Coleman Enterprises, which consisted of a very successful beauty shop and a wholesale-retail beauty and barber supply house which stocked most major brands of hair-goods and served drugstores as well as beauty and barber shops throughout the greater Milwaukee area.

Originally starting in Racine, the Coleman’s business was located at 3431 N. Green Bay Ave. Internment will be at Graceland Cemetery.
