Milwaukee Urban League President and CEO Ralph Hollmon congratulates one of approximately
198 students who were recently honored with induction into the National Achievers
Society at the Destiny Conference Center, 7210 N. 76th Street (76th and Good Hope). The
National Achievers Society (NAS) is a key component of the Urban Leagueʼs campaign for
African American Achievement. The purpose of the NAS induction ceremony is to promote,
encourage and recognize students for their academic achievement. The guest speaker was
state Sen. Spencer Coggs.
The Urban League believes that the students of the Achievers Society will be future leaders in
the Milwaukee community. “For our students to be successful, they must have a good education
in order to compete in a global, increasingly technical society,” said the MULʼs Hollmon.
The youth who were inducted into the Achievers Society will be offered numerous opportunities;
such as exposure to college preparation workshops, college tours, financial aid forums,
community service projects and access to scholarship opportunities. (Photo by Harry Kemp)
