Hupy & Abraham donates to children’s education
November 10, 2011 // 0 CommentsNeighborhood House Annual Celebration Dinner and Auction was held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The theme of this year’s event, “You Make Us Strong” was an annual fundraiser to benefit thousands of at-risk children, families and refugees that are served by Neighborhood House each year.
Hupy & Abraham, S.C. made a donation to the organization to sponsor children’s education.
The law firm has been supporting several different educational scholarship programs for decades, including the NAACP and the 1290 WMCS Scholarship Funds. Hupy & Abraham, S.C. has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to support youth education. In a letter sent to Attorney Todd Korb, the law firm was thanked for their continued support. “We are thrilled that Hupy & Abraham joined us again this year. Thanks for being champions for our children,” said Neighbor House Director of Development, Deborah Hufford.
WISN TV 12 Chief Meteorologist Mark Baden hosted the celebration. There was a reception, fund-a-need silent auction and a dinner and awards program. The Ray Woods Youth
Award recipient this year was Robert Jones. He is a senior at Pulaski High School and a member of the varsity basketball team. Robert found Neighborhood House in 2007 and he is very appreciative of the mentoring and guidance the staff provided. He plans to attend college and pursue a degree in criminal justice.
Neighborhood House has been offering services to strengthen children and families in urban areas since 1945. The Early Childhood Services program focuses on children 6 months to 6 years old. The Youth & Teen program works with children ages 7 to 12 years old.
The Family & Adult program is dedicated to building a stronger community by building stronger families. The International Learning Center teaches English as a second language to refugees from around the world. There is also an Outdoor/Environmental Education program, a Community Health Improvement for Milwaukee’s Children program and a Citywide Nutrition & Physical Activity program.
