I'm hopeful that Mr. Payne's appointment
will usher in a new successful era for the Brewers. I
am also hopeful he will be given the authority to perform
the job. I hope the fact he is Black will diminish and
he will be treated as a professional. |

Black Milwaukeeans are expecting them to give to give him
the authority to run the Brewers orginization. I believe

Fund Dinner At Midwest Express Center

Mfume, national president of the NAACP waves to supporters
during the Milwaukee NAACP branch's annual Freedom Fund
Dinner held at the Midwest Express Center. Mfume was the
keynote speaker. Standing with him is Jerry Ann Hamilton,
Milwaukee branch president (center) and Thomas White, president
of the Wisconsin State NAACP.
