Best of the Best! Just the title connotes excellence, superior action, and more than norm.

The decision to examine Milwaukee’s Best’s was motivated by a series on Best Cities for African Americans in "Black Enterprise" magazine.
We wanted to flaunt our Bests!

Too often, we fail to see ourselves as others see us! Or, we do not build upon our strengths, boldly.

It has been said that "one success is the impetus for another success." We want to test that theory knowing that Milwaukee has many residents who have contributed to our city; and in many cases the nation.

The 2006 class of "Best of the Best" honorees, in our opinion, represents the Bests! They are a kaleidoscope of achievers whose accomplishments provide a myriad of success examples in their professions, attitudes about bettering the community, and using their gifts to benefit, not just themselves but, others.

In a time when "giving" seems to have been overridden by "getting," when "sharing" has been replaced by "taking," it is imperative to dispel that entitlement attitude and show, through example, the tenets of people who helped us all achieve.

The honorees range in age from 99 years to 8 years. They are PhDs, MDs, CPAs, JDs, BSs, MAs, high school and middle schools’ graduates. They visionaries, illuminaries, and celebrities.

And, all are actualizers! They make things happen!

The contributions of each of the honorees of 2006 are acknowledged with pride and salutations, for they truly are the Best of the Bests! Thank You!
