| Many White commentators are trying to play it off saying it was just what he does, its his job, besides he has apologied. While many others are asking that he be fired. As I-Witness has said on several ocassions racism is passed down through generations like the favorite family’s recipe.
Ask Mark Belling of WISN Radio and Clear Channel Communications who was called out for his racist remarks about Latinos and just like Imus he could not understand what he did wrong.
I too am asking that Imus be terminated for that reason that it was said without thought, which means he is use to saying things of this nature about Black people and he feels very comfortable doing it.
My other reason is the picture that is generally painted of young Black adults are very negative and here you have young educated Black women who are headed to decent careers with plenty of opportunity to do good things in the world and now they are reduced to being nappy headed and hoes.
Besides it is not like this is a one time thing this is his mind set. In the past Imus has degraded Black people by reciting poetry by Maya Angelou as follows; "Whitey plucked you from the jungle; for too many years took away your pride, your dignity and your spears." After doing the stance he would laugh and say you know we always get into trouble when we do that. So if he is aware before he says it that it is not the right thing to say and continues to do it. Than it’s a mind set and being a racist is part of him.
Imus has on several occassions made racial remarks like calling "New York Times’ Sports" Columnist Bill Rhoden who is Black a "New York Times" quota hire. "Referring to one of this nation top attorneys and PBS anchor Gwen Ifill as a "cleaning lady. She is also Black."
For years, he has degraded Black people in the worst way and now he says it’s not with malice. After much outcry across the country MSNBC, CBS and General Electric have suspended him for two weeks, which is a joke because even they know its his mind set and perhaps theirs too. Maybe Imus is just mickings their thoughts and feelings otherwise how does he get away with this kind of racism all these years. I have watched his show a few times and found it to be disgusting.
Imus appeared on Al Sharpton radio show saying he wanted to apologies but as you watched him it showed even more that he really is a racist. It was sad because you could see it was so natuaral for him, he didn’t even realize it. Sad, sad. So he must be held accountable.
It is further my understanding that he runs some kind of villiage for kids of all races in Mexico and there are 10 Black children there perhaps they should be checked on to see if they have some new names, like monkey or buckwheat, whatever he would call us.
America needs to quit saying that we are one America, the whole world knows that even after four years this country has not accepted Black people as human beings and never will. Racism is a live and well in America. Black people see it everyday.
Racism is White folks mental illness and this is what it does, it festers in the racist then it hides as it smiles at Black people everyday as we pay our bills to them, spend our money with them, then it begins to swell inside to where they cannot hide it any more. Then it comes out in very mean spirited ways to where they all say I don’t know what happen, I am not like that, Yes, you are. All things that’s hidden in darkness will always come to the light and no matter how the racist trys to hide it will show.
That’s why we as Black people need to quit claiming the racist mental illness or accepting it. We have Black beautiful skin because God wanted us to have and I wear my Black skin with pride and honor and I will never apologize for it or who I am.
Of course, the White anchors who are arguing against Imus being fired will never know how painful it is when you are called names that degrade bringing back flash backs of Black people being hang, dogs being sic on them, having to go back to being called boy and girl in front of your children, and you are thought of to be less than the next human simply because you have Black skin. While they stand their holding your hand singing We shall over come.
No Imus and his producer must go. We are not talking of a slip of the tongue we are talking about real thoughts and a way of life. The question is if he thought he could spit on us and call us boy or gal and we didn’t respond would he than attempt to hang us.
I watched the class of the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team as one by one they stated the sadness they felt about being called hoes. I felt their pain as they stated how painful it was, what did they ever do to him. They did not even know this man. So for him to say, it was just a mistake and the pundits saying nobody got hurt well ask the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team why did they feel the pain they felt and the need to say something about their hurt.
Ask Sharpton, Jackson why they became upset, and paternalist to these young women and felt the need to protect and fight for them, ask every Black person what they felt but moreover why did this get so much coverage if they were only words without damage.
Last but not least I watched how the news pundits fought for Imus saying it was just a mistake, as they began to attack both Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson because they are stilling calling for Imus resignation. General Electric, MSNBS and CBS has given him a two week suspension but refuse to say whether its with pay. Not good enough.
As Imus states to Sharpton, I came here as a slave master opps I mean a man to talk to you and what Imus nor the pundits get is that we all seen with our own eyes when he appeared on Sharpton radio show, that Imus truly thinks Black People are as he stated he was not being the shock jock when he made the statements.
Yes, he was doing his job for General Electric, MSNBC and CBS promoting and spreading racism, creating bad and negative images of Black People and attacking young black women, It doesn’t matter how many times we show we are decent human beings. The rule is enforced "if you’re White you’re right and if you’re Black get back."
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson were being men when they called him out. As Black men not only did they not find the humor in it but it was as if they were attacking their children and what man could call himself a man if he would not defend his family.
I support the actions of Sharpton and Jackson on their call for the firing of Imus, and further more we need to find out all the sponsors of this show and boycott these news channels and products. Never, Never, Never Again. My mind was just thinking and it said enough said…

Darryn sponsored the celebration himself, it was free and open to the public. Folks could make donations to the scholarship fund if they chose. I touch a lot of people and a lot of people touch me. Part of me is part of you and if I share a moment with a person I hope I have left a good impression.
Darryn D Leadership Scholarship Fund mission offers invaluble assistance to young men and women searching for the encouragement, understanding necessary to re-enforce the values of their community along with self-accountability and responsibility by learning the essentials of leadership.

Young people 12-19 can partake in our many leadership develop programs acquiring skills which will show them how to communicate well, problem solving, negotitiate, goal setting, stress and anger management, becoming entreprenerurs, health and wellness, group dymanics and a host of life skills to perpare them to become good thinking leaders who can guide, direct and influence people in a positive way.

Milwaukee County Board Chairman and Supervisors Beth Coggs-Jones and Michael Mayo along with the Milwaukee County Parks welcomed Michelle E. Watts as the new director of the Dr. Martin Luther King Center at a reception at Gene’s Supper Club.
The new director brings a lot of experience to the job. She is a social worker, a former federal pobation officer, she has worked for the sheriff department, I guess we can call her a jack of all trades, holla!
Many turned out to congratulate Michelle bringing her bouquets of flowers and good wishes. I chatted with Watts asking her what are some of things she sees herself doing at the King Center to enrich the lives of those who go to the center. In a bubbly smile she states Well I’m getting to know every body icluding the many children and its challenging but I want to do things to make the King Center a place where children and adults of all races want to come. I’m working with the staff, you know sometimes change is hard. But we have spruced things up a bit and I look to worked strongly on customer service where people coming to the Kings Center are greeted with much more friendness.
We say things like hello, how are you, thank you, have a good evening. I want to have some improvements done to the building and we are going to clean it till it shines and she laughs out loud. I have been getting a lot of positive feed back.
I’m going to reach out more into the community for example thr Rugby team from Marquette uses the park well I’m going to ask them if they would teach the children how to play rugby.
I want to create an atmosphere to let children know there are positive options here and they do not have to settle for less. It doesn’t take big things it real simple getting back to the basics.
We are also going to make the outside look good with some landscaping, planting flowers, trees whatever to make it look good that’s important.
Supervisor Coggs-Jones thanked every one for coming and sighted she was proud that the King Center was in her district its her little jewel in the 10th Supervisory District. We have some great things in the working for families.

Michelle then says a few words as she thamks evryone for coming she states, "If we don’t work with our children who will. We must have something for them to do. It’s a milestone for me and just because it’s in the inner city doesn’t mean we have to think like it. I’m destine to make a difference. I that Ta’Wan Saleem is here he teaches karate and discipline and that’s what we need. When we all do it together we have no choice but to succeed If we are all there to pick each other up when we fall.
