The Board of Directors has named Jeanne Geraci as the new executive director of the Benedict Center. According to Board President, Maricolette Walsh, “Jeanne is committed to the mission of the Benedict Center and her education and experience along with her management and development skills make her an ideal fit to assist the Board in moving the organization forward.”
Geraci says, “I have long respected the work of the Benedict Center, not only for the dignity and hope that it offers its participants, but for its commitment to social justice and systemic changes in the broader criminal justice system. The Benedict Center offers cost-saving solutions that are proven to work by recognizing the value and potential of individuals who are part of our families and communities. I look forward to building on the Benedict Center’s strong track record.”
Geraci comes to the Benedict Center with 13 years of nonprofit experience, most recently at Voces de la Frontera, where she has served as Associate Director since 2006. There she played a critical role in moving a fledgling immigrant worker center to an established state and national leader in the immigrant rights movement. Prior to that she was a family advocate at Mental Health America of Wisconsin, development director of Esperanza Unida and community organizer for the Riverwest YMCA Housing Initiative.
