Jill Scott Lands New Role in CBS Pilot

Jill Scott’s making time in her busy schedule to do more acting.
The ESSENCE Festival performer has signed on to co-star in CBS’s new pilot drama Second Sight, according to a press release.
The series will follow a New Orleans detective, played by Jason Lee, who suffers from an “ocular disorder” which causes him to have hallucinations. Scott will play Dr. Callier, the specialist who treats the detective’s disorder.
Scott’s latest film,Baggage Claim, co-starring Paula Patton, Djimon Hounsou, Derek Luke, Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Terrence J is scheduled to be released on October 25.
