Jimi Hendrix Woodstock Docu-Series in Theaters This Week

The late rock legend Jimi Hendrix will commemorated in a docu-piece entitled, Hendrix 70: Live at Woodstock, screening in theaters this week. According to The Los Angeles Times, the film is a compilation of extended footage, which will include exclusive never seen before interviews with Hendrix’s longtime band mates, Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell, who share their personal accounts with the famed guitarist.
Jimi’s engineer, Eddie Kramer, has taken the forty-three year old footage to another level with a 5.1 surround sound audio mix that will make viewers feel like they’re at the foot of the Woodstock stage. The Hendrix doc will also include 14 performances, including his rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “Purple Haze,” which was featured in the original “Woodstock” theatrical film, plus “Spanish Castle Magic,” “Red House,” “Lover Man,” “Izabella,” “Fire” and “Villanova Junction” as Hendrix introduced his new band, Gypsy Sun & Rainbows.
