The ultimate singles website for all people of color has been launched

Atlanta (BlackNews.com)--EbonySingles.com, a newly formed venture with creators of the number one rated online dating community for people of color, Black-Singles.com, has been launched with more than 350,000 registered members.

The owners and operators of the former website were in the forefront of online social networking since the websites inception in 1996. Now they are taking their Internet experience to another level.

For the past ten years millions of single and not so single African American’s have visited or heard of the former website Black Singles. After all, it was the premier gathering place for people of color.

There have been marriages, new families and lasting friendships as result of the online community. Black Singles received so much publicity over the years, that several variations and imitations of the name "Black singles" started filling up the Internet.

As a result, a decision was made to rename the site Ebony-Singles.com to maintain its integrity, and show more diversity. After all what is in a name? According to Michael Brown, "we decided to give the website a more international name that appeals to ALL people of color. Not just Black Americans as the name suggested."

"There were several imposter websites that tried to imitate and emulate our online community, but were never successful in capturing members the way the original blacksingles.com did. However, there was often confusion on the various search engines," stated Brown.

"This call to action that resulted in a name change to Ebony-Singles.com, does not compromise the integrity of the website. As a matter of fact, it only expands our role in the community," states Latishia Futrell, the West Coast marketing manager.

EbonySingles.com will continue to host events from coast to coast and has future plans to include international travel expeditions in addition to their annual cruise events.

As the new and improved EbonySingles.com continues to generate membership in a growing single society, the most important thing for its members, visitors, and the media to understand is that the service, integrity and community is still exceeds excellence.

There haven’t been any internal changes, just the name, overall look, and feel of the website. It is more user-friendly, and now hosts Blog sections in addition to the notable Heart & Soul community forum.

There are many new features that allow members to be in touch more easily with a member they wish to meet or chat with instantly.

"Another venture we are excited about is the launch of TVOne Personals on the TVOne Cable Network," states Brown. This personals community on the cable TV network’s website, (www.tvoneonline.com) is powered by, Ebony-Singles.com.

"We developed the software and programming to host a savvy online personals community for professionals in partnership with TVOne."

TVOne is a cable network dedicated to Lifestyle and Entertainment owned by Radio One the Urban Media Specialist.

TVOne is available on Comcast and other satellite networks, and has a popular program "Get the Hook-Up," which will be affiliated with their personals section powered by EbonySingles.com.
