Join us as MCJ (The largest African – American newspaper in Wisconsin) celebrates it 36th Anniversary (Putting the Neighbor BACK into the HOOD) on Sunday August 5, 2012 at the Italian Conference Center. Various “Neighbors in the Hood” are honored for their daily work in building and strengthening the wonderful and diverse city.
Also the community is encouraged to “Meet and Greet”, Dr. Camara P. Jones, keynote speaker for the evening and Epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at the VIP Reception sponsored by Cream City Medical Society and the Medical College of Wisconsin beginning at 1 pm. Her Keynote Address is: ”Achieving Health Equity: Addressing Racism as a Threat to the Health and Well-being of Our Nation”. This will be an amazing event not to be missed.
Over 15 students of the
Dr. Terence N. Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund will receive their annual $2000 stipends, lauding their successful matriculation in colleges and universities in Milwaukee and throughout the United States. And, silent Auction tables will be brimming with low-cost specials. The Raffle of an Exercise Machine, an Adult Bicycle and a child’s bike are among the Raffle gifts. Join us…
