Holla!
Two hundred fifty-one thousand (251,500) down 6,400 to go, I-Witness showing the beauty of Black people, our passions, compassion, intellect and Black life in love one event at a time.

Hey, 6,400 Black people to go and I-Witness and the "Milwaukee Community Journal" will have touched over 253,000 Black families in Milwaukee.

"Until the Lion writes his own story, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter."--African proverb

"Attention!"

The Million Father’s March is asking all fathers to take their sons to school on the first day of school. I-Witness thinks it is a wonderful idea.

Many fathers across the nation will take off work for a few hours to put their sons in new directions, Moms it is a good idea for the men to go to school with their daughters on the first day also.

It brings them to a completely new level of looking at education. Keep building strong families and advancing that next generation, I love it! Salute to you Million Father’s March organizers.

Noted businesswoman

Adrienne Davis dies

by MCJ Staff
Entrepreneur and business pioneer Adrienne Davis, who owned and operated two central city businesses, died Monday night in her sleep, reportedly from natural causes.
Davis was honored Sunday along with 39 other individuals during the "Milwaukee Community Journal’s" 30th Anniversary Celebration. She was one of the community’s "Best" in the world of business.
Davis was a mentor to a multitude of men and women entrepreneurs who either followed her example of business start-up or came to her for advice and counsel. And rightfully so, given the fact Davis had over 35 years of knowledge and continuous dedication to bettering the city through business development and stability. More

For the sake of Aaron: Celebrating our Black Males

by Patricia O’Flynn Pattillo
Funerals of young victims are far too common today. A recent visit to one of our funeral homes, recently, showed three males under the age of thirty.

Whether they were crime related or natural causes were not disclosed in their eulogies, however, it is not presumptive to conclude that some of them were preemptive deaths. More

Photos conjure up 30 years of memories

by Mikel Kwaku Osei Holt
Even though I helped select the photographs that made up the historical exhibit that graced the foray of the Italian Community Center during this newspaper’s 30th anniversary Sunday afternoon, I nevertheless found myself transfixed by the images that highlighted our publication over the past three decades.

The exhibit was divided into nine categories including politics, civil rights, religious, sports and staff. More
