MILWAUKEE – On any given day there are more than 1,500 homeless men, women and families in the Milwaukee area. The Project Homeless Connect (PHC) event is a one-stop shop of comprehensive support services for people experiencing homelessness. During the event, local advocates will administer services to attendees; identifying the need and sharing resources, exploring previously unused benefits and assisting in scheduling follow up appointments for obtaining/renewing benefits or medical services. The Milwaukee Continuum of Care will be hosting its fourth annual Project Homeless Connect event! It is a fantastic day in which we anticipate serving approximately 400 guests that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Some of the services provided are: haircuts, dental screenings, winter coats, agency resources and a meal! With local community assistance, every year we get more than 300 volunteers to accompany guests throughout the event; ensuring the homeless obtain the services they need.
