Community members, civic leaders, elected officials and bereaved families gathered at Tabernacle Community Baptist Church, 2500 W. Medford Ave., to light a candle for change.
A candlelight vigil was held at the church for Milwaukee’s 2011 homicide victims. Candles representing the memory of each victim were lit as words of hope and healing were spoken.
The vigil, held Friday, Dec. 30, was sponsored by Northcott Neighborhood House, MICAH, Running Rebels, Safe and Sound, Harambee Great Neighborhood Initiative and was in cooperation with Milwaukee County.
