Mo visits students that make money matter

Bucks Guard Mo Williams will visit 1,000 grade school students at the three winning schools in Guardian Credit Union’s "Mo’s Making Money Matter Savings Program."

Williams will speak about the importance of personal finances and saving money at Story Elementary School and Ben Franklin School on Monday, May 22 and Doerfler Elementary School on Tuesday, May 23.

"Mo’s Making Money Matter" encourages students to learn the value of saving money while working towards incentives provided by both GCU and the Milwaukee Bucks.

The program allows children to open up a real savings account at the credit union and make deposits up to once a week, on a specially designated "Savings Day."

Guardian Credit Union has been offering a savings program in area schools for over nine years, and "Mo’s Making Money Matter" enhances GCU’s efforts, as well as introduced new schools to the importance of financial education.

Groups/schools and locations that participated in the program include: All of Guardian Credit Union’s "Save For America" locations and Youth Credit Unions; Doerfer Elementary; Story Elementary; Fairview Elementary; Lloyd Elementary; Ben Franklin Elementary; Washington High School; six branches of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee; LaVarnway; Mary Ryan; Pieper-Hillside; Fitzsimonds; and Davis and Daniels-Mardak.
