Aurora Pharmacy offers diabetes screening throughout August
Many people have diabetes five to seven years before they even know it, and during those years, damage can occur to their eyes, kidneys, heart and nerves.
It is estimated 21 million Americans have diabetes and one-third does not know it. That’s why it’s important to learn the risk factors for developing diabetes and receive a free diabetes screening. For more information, call the individual pharmacy.
Aurora Pharmacy will offer free Diabetes Days clinics in August at these sites:
o 9:30 a.m. to noon, August 2, 6969 North Port Washington Road, Glendale
o 1:30-4:30 p.m., August 2, 10928 Northh Port Washington Road, Mequon
o 9:30 a.m. to noon, August 16, 3355 West Forest Home Avenue, Milwaukee
A pharmacist and diabetes educator will be available at Diabetes Day to:
o Perform a free diabetes screening (no fasting required)
o Do a free foot exam for loss of sensation
o Do a free blood pressure check
o Discuss your diabetes medication
o Answer product-related questions
