Just in time for Father’s Day, the Milwaukee Public Library will present Professor E. Adekunle Wilson, Ed. S., the author of the book Celebrating Good Black Men: Granddad, Greats, and Dad. Wilson will be appearing at three Milwaukee Libraries.
She will appear at Villard Avenue Library, 3310 W. Villard Ave., from 6-7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, June 15 at the Martin Luther King Library, 310 W. Locust St., from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; and the Center Street Library, 2727 W. Fond du Lac Ave., from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Celebrating Good Black Men paints a picture for the kind of personal character, routines, and priorities that enabled Black Americans to endure, persevere and progress as a people.
Readers are provided a behind-the-achievement glimpse into the mindsets of faith, determination and creativity. The programs will encourage and promote family reading, library use and American history. Light refreshments will be provided.
