" How Has The Supreme Court's Brown Decision To Desegregate Public Schools Affected Black America ? "

Mary Campbell:

“The decision was and is a wake-up call to the Black community that racism still exists in such a manner as to disregard the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Black communities are still being denied opportunities in the education process. Until there is a understanding of Brown’s importance in the Black community, then Brown is nothing more than another run-of-the-mill court decision that leaves nothing but inequality in the community.”

Edward Frank:

“I believe that Black people miss the point of the decision. We should look at equal funding to support our schools.”

William Allen, Sr. :

“It has enhanced educational opportunity for Black Americans. However, we must press forward to ensure the gains continue, not regress.”
