Photos and question by Harry Kemp

Deborah Tabor: "Because people do not trust doctors."

Quinn Monroe: "I feel it is important for all to be checked and screened for these types of illnesses because the numbers of these killers are rising at an alarming rate. The way to put a cap on this is to detect it early and educate our youth on prevention."

Donna Edwards: "It is of the utmost importance for not only people of color to be tested for these illnesses, it is also important for us to see our physicians on a regular basis. This helps to catch the diseases in an earlier stage to be treated and give us a better chance at survival."

Dwayne Edwards: "It is important for people to be tested for illnesses because the gift of life is very precious and should not be neglected. A health body, mind and spirit allows a person to enjoy friends and family; and it allows people to add value to the community and society overall."
