Valerie McGee: “Yes, I plan on attending. My hope is that all African Americans as well as the many nationalities and ethnic cultures in Milwaukee and throughout the country appreciate, respect and treasure the sacrifices our forefathers made to build Milwaukee and the U.S.”
Erick Holt: “Yes, I plan to be there. My reason is I worked at Northcott Neighborhood House when Juneteenth Day first started.”
Regina Shelton: “No, I will not be attending; because there’s always ‘drama’ down there and I don’t like being anywhere a bunch of young (people) are.”
La’Derle Williams: “I will most definitely attend the celebration because it symbolizes unity and God is about unity and if we unify and pray the rewards would be tremendous.”
