Reach Down & Rise Up Foundation Inc. extends 2012 scholarship opportunity to area students

Local high school students are encouraged to apply for the Reach Down & Rise Up Foundation 2012 Scholarship.
The scholarship applicant must be a senior from a Milwaukee Public High School. The student must have ended their freshman year with a GPA below 2.0 and has shown significant improvement in the areas of academics, character and behavior by mid-senior year.
This “Most Improved” 12th grade male or female student must now hold a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average, which has afforded them an opportunity to attend an accredited two or four year college or university as a full-time student.
Students may obtain the application packet from their high school counselor or via the Reach Down & Rise Up Foundation, Inc.’s website. The amount of the scholarship is a one-time $2,000.00 award.
All Milwaukee Public High Schools are participating and scholarship officials expect to award the very first recipient this coming June.
Reach Down & Rise Up Foundation’s purpose is to recognize and honor deserving “Most Improved” high school students in the Milwaukee area as we assist them with a scholarship toward their college expenses.who has demonstrated a desire to become the “Most Improved”.
The organization’s mission is to financially assist high school seniors in the Milwaukee Public
School system that chose to embrace education and further commit to improving themselves academically as they continue in their pursuit of higher education.
Reach Down & Rise Up’s vision is to promote education and inspire character building, enabling students to become successful contributors in society.
