Bishop T.D. Jakes comments on passing of Yolanda King
Bishop T.D. Jakes offered the following comment regarding the passing of Ms. Yolanda King, the eldest daughter of Martin Luther King, Jr.:
"Today we mourn the passing of our beautiful sister, Yolanda King, but her work--her passion for peace and equality--will remain with us for generations.
"Even though she was a child during the violent and turbulent civil rights era that her father experienced, it was clear that she understood that the fight and victory for dignity, equality and justice comes most powerfully from peace, love and forgiveness.
"Through her artistic endeavors, she pressed us to view our struggles in a new light as she carried the torch her father and mother lit so many years before.
"Yolanda and I have worshipped together in many services both at The Potter's House and elsewhere.
"She will be missed, but never forgotten. My prayers of comfort are with her entire family, and those who continue her passion today."
Bishop Thomas D. Jakes, Sr., senior pastor/founder The Potter’s House of Dallas, Inc.

Having God’s best marriage
by Clyde Temple, III
Why is the divorce so high in America? Why is it higher in Black America nearing 70%?
What are the five major reasons for divorce?
Author Clyde Temple III answers these questions, but more importantly, he raised the question why is the divorce so high in the church?
Some feel there is very little distinction between the church and the secular society.
Temple provides a thorough analysis of what is happening in the world and the church.
He offers over 50 strategies to reduce the church divorce rate. Are many people looking for their mate to make them complete? How extensive is pre-marital counseling?
Are many couples unequally yoked? Why is the lack of communication one of the major reasons for divorce? How much time are couples praying together? These questions and Clyde Temple’s answers make this a great read.
What I loved most about the book was Temple’s practical way of using God’s word to save marriages.
This is a must read for thsoe serious about not becoming another divorce statistic.
