Faith life graduates celebrate a first
Lewisville, Texas (BlackNews.com)--Depression, marital discord, sexual promiscuity, defiant children, addictions, panic attacks and similar maladies dominate our society including persons of the Christian faith.
Few people in the faith realize that persons fully and appropriately developed as believers assume a hedge or buffer against these illnesses according to Dr. Steven B. DavidSon.
He continues, "This does not mean that believers in Christ, Jesus will not be challenged with these difficulties. However, it does mean that persons who are developed in all aspects of the faith-life in Jesus Christ possess faith-life skills to control and limit these conditions."
Dr. DavidSon, the nation’s foremost Christ-based counselor, and a leading Christian educator developed the National Faith-life program to assist the Christian maturation process, and he coined the term, ‘faith-life deficiency’ representing the root-cause for the epidemic.
DavidSon continues, "Unfortunately, ministries responsible for developing believers can be so distracted by other agendas, they lose sight of their principal objective. If they are Christ-based enterprises, they were designed to develop mature believers in all aspects of human functioning represented by Jesus Christ.
"This includes relational, cognitive, and behavioral disciplines based on spiritual realities. This empowers believers to proceed with fulfilling the Great Commission of reaching and developing persons in His faith-life principles.
"However, numerous believers become so overwhelmed by errant ministry agendas, or their personal circumstances, it is not unusual to find leaders and followers who are Commission bankrupt. Therefore, we’re offering solutions to help any ministry to God’s glory."
Sponsored by Westside Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas the first graduates completed the nine month, 30 course program. They are expected to become involved in several life-changing ministries.
K.W. Blake, the pastor of Westside and state consultant with the largest protestant denomination in the United States, believes the program has the potential to impact the church in an extraordinary way.
Using web-based technology, DavidSon designed the National Faith Life curriculum so that individuals and ministries worldwide can benefit from the program. K.W. Blake concludes, "It is my belief that a thorough understanding of God’s word is what every believer needs to live a victorious life in these dark days in which we find ourselves." |
