Scott falls short of needed signatures for election

Johnna Scott
Johnna Scott was one of several Milwaukee Public School board candidates who did not have the required number of valid signatures needed to have their names placed on the February 20 primary ballot.
In a press statement, Scott said her campaign was 11 signatures short of the 400 signatures required to have her name placed on the ballot.
"I am heart-broken and saddened at this news because I truly believe I would have been successful in my quest to better represent the constituents in my district," Scott said in a press statement.
Noting that the experience of pursuing public office has been "an education and an eye-opener," Scott said, adding she will remain committed to her mission of making sure youth in Milwaukee receive the quality education they deserve.
"My passion for youth is not deterred and I will continue to be an advocate," Scott stated.
"There is a calling on my heart to make a difference and I will find a productive and effective way to respond to that calling." |
