SDC Commissioner Gets Public Input
November 17, 2011 // 0 CommentsA publically elected member of the Social Development Commission (SDC) Board of Commissioners sat down with members of the public to hear their concerns.
SDC District Four Commissioner Karlton Jones held a Community Forum at Northcott Neighborhood House. He talked with residents of the district which runs on Milwaukee’s North and Eastside from Lake Michigan to North 20th Street. Several residents talked about problems they were having in getting their Homestead Tax forms filled out. They were referred to the Milwaukee Asset Building Coalition free tax preparation program for information and possible help. Other discussions revolved around issues facing seniors in the Milwaukee area and how SDC can help those residents.
Commissioner Jones’ Community Forum was the latest in a series held by SDC elected Commissioners. Those Commissioners are holding public meetings in the different districts across Milwaukee County so residents can tell them about issues of interest and give input on how SDC is doing in their communities.
