Space available in Head Start

Slots are currently available at Head Start sites across Milwaukee County. The pre-school program offered by the Social Development Commission (SDC) and its delegate agencies is taking applications now for the coming school year.

SDC’s Head Start is a program for children between the ages of three and five years. It provides quality preparation of children for kindergarten and beyond with a blend of academic and social preparation, medical and dental screenings and parental involvement. It is free for income eligible families and children with disabilities are an enrollment priority.

There are limited slots at the various Head Start sites so interested parents are encouraged to contact SDC Head Start for information on the nearest site as well as how to sign up their children. For more information, call 414-963-2693.

Head Start is one of more than 20 programs offered by the Social Development Commission whose goal it is to provide Milwaukee County residents with the resources to move beyond poverty.
