Milwaukee’s Summerfest happens June 24 – July 4, 2010. Originating in 1968, Summerfest is now in its 43rd year and recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as “The World’s Largest Music Festival.”
Year after year, Summerfest delivers an unforgettable live music experience to fans, showcasing the top touring talent on the planet on 11 stages, including the 23,000 seat Marcus Amphitheater. Approximately 900,000 music fans from throughout the world attend this 11 day mega-event each year.
DATES: Thursday, June 24 – Sunday, July 4, 2010
FESTIVAL SITE: Henry W. Maier Festival Park (Summerfest Grounds), 200 N. Harbor Drive. The grounds are situated on 75-acres on the downtown shore of Lake Michigan.
HOURS OF OPERATION; Noon – Midnight daily
GENERAL ADMISSION: Online and at the gate
• Adults, Weekdays (Noon – 4:00 pm): $8
• Adults, Weeknights & Weekends: $15
• Three Day Pass: $33
• Seniors (60+); $3
• Children (3-10): $3 (Under 2 are Free)
All tickets can be purchased online at Summerfest.com with no additional service or shipping fees added.
MARCUS AMPHITHEATER: An impressive 23,000-capacity venue with a spectacular view overlooking Lake Michigan and the downtown Milwaukee skyline. Tickets for shows in the Amphitheater must be purchased separately through Ticketmaster.com or the Box Office.
ENTERTAINMENT: In addition to the Marcus Amphitheater, stages feature various music genres and accommodate from 100-10,000+ patrons.
FANTASTIC FOOD: The grounds feature 45 of the Milwaukee area’s favorite restaurants offering a wide array of delicious items to savor.
FAMILY ACTIVITIES: The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Northwestern Mutual Children’s Theater and PlayZone offers educational programming, interactive activities and playground equipment. Children’s Fest Day is Monday, June 28, 2010.
SHOPPING: Four marketplaces are offered at the festival—The North Market, Arts & Crafts Market, Market Square and the South Market. The marketplaces feature handcrafted wares, jewelry, ethnic crafts, clothing and souvenirs from around the world. The Summerfest Store presented by Express Promotions offers four locations throughout the park and is the place to shop for Official Summerfest Merchandise and Apparel.
