Feast with the Beasts
Mark your calendar now for the "Best Fest" of the summer--the "Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s" a la Carte at the Milwaukee County Zoo, August 17 through the 20 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Summer wouldn’t be the same without the zoo’s traditional "Feast with the Beasts," featuring 28 area restaurants preparing some of the finest fare available!
The list of participating restaurants will satisfy even the most discriminating tastes and includes some favorites like Crawdaddy’s, J.T. Bones Barbecue Restaurant, and Club Timbuktu and Lula’s Cafe.
There will also be additional attractions and highlights, like Comedy Sportz, activities for kids, commemorative merchandise, the Chase sponsored Dinosaur expedition ad the Miller Brewing Company Giraffe Experience.

General Mitchell International
County Executive Scott Walker recently announced the completion of a renovation project at General Mitchell International Airport that increases the Concourse E security checkpoint from three lanes to four.
Northwest Airlines, Continental Express Airlines and AirTran Airways uses the 10 gates on Concourse E, although AirTran has temporarily relocated to Concourse C due to construction.
The expanded checkpoint features glass walls between screening lanes, and new interior finishes, ceiling, lighting and fixtures. The project cost $1.03 million.
Family Day at Family House
The Tenth Annual Family Day at Family House, Inc., is a not-for-profit event sponsored by WE Energies and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
This event will be held on August 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Family House, Inc. located at 3269 North 11th Street.
There will be health screenings and informational tools for better health.
In addition, there will be great gospel music; this will be a day of sharing, caring, fellowship and free food.
