Bucks exit playoffs early; lose series to Pistons in five games!

The Milwaukee Bucks made a gutsy attempt at pulling off the playoff upset of the century against the powerhouse Detroit Pistons, but it didn't happen. The Pistons took the series in five games to advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-finals. Bucks will have to wait until next year to make another run at the NBA title. (photos by Bill Tennessen)

Friends of Art have a "Bal!"

The Friends of Art of Milwaukee Art Museum held its 47th Annual Bal du Lac 2006, held recently at the art museum. The event helps ensures that Friends of Art can continue to benefit the Art Acquisition and Exhibition Fund for the art museum. To date, Friends of Art has raised over $5 million and has purchased hundreds of pieces of art for the museum. Johnsons Park area unveils ideas to redevelop neighborhood

These residents and business owners were recognized recently for their efforts in "re-imagining" the Greater Johnsons Park area during the kick-off of revitalization efforts in the area at Brown Street Academy, 2029 North 20th Street. Residents and entrepreneurs have been involved in a project sponsored by the Urban Open Space Foundation to help revitalize the Johnsons Park area. Plans include an Underground Railroad Walk of Hope, wading pool, the park, Alice’s Garden, and other ideas to enhance the area. (photo by Harry Kemp)
